I'm gonna lay some proper NYC etiquette on you, I mean I know we're known for being the most polite and kindest city. (ha!)
This is probably the most simple concept ever, I know most people know this but apparently some do not!
Just the same as we all drive on the right side of the road, on stairs in public you walk on the right side.
This applies anywhere in the US.
If you're walking down or up the left side, you better not be scoffing at someone because you think they're in your way. You sir, are an idiot.
No this didn't happen to me, but I've seen it enough times every morning that it makes me want to be like:
Wait, okay seriously?! It's fucking stairs!
In all means of traffic while you're in the US:
Stay to the right!
