Well it's fucking 24 degrees in Brooklyn right now. I'm not sure I could hate something more than I hate being cold. I mean I really don't enjoy winter at all. Yeah yeah yeah, I know it's one of the seasons of NY and it's January and this is how it should be and all that but - I will still never enjoy it. Not gonna happen.
I decided to bring some fake warmth into my day and put together a list for the best summer ever.
Last summer was definitely good - I did a lot of fun things-mostly spent it in Brooklyn meeting new people.
My most favorite thing was a road trip on the back of my boyfriend's motorcycle to Beacon, NY. We stayed at this amazing little B&B that was so beautiful. We liked it so much we stayed there again for my birthday when we climbed the mountain. It was kind of perfect I'll never forget it.
This was not the most comfortable ride,
but it was memorable. That's Lake Tiorati.
I loooove it there so much.
I'm aiming to make this summer bigger and better though. It has to top all of the summers. I will do all of these things, trust me.
So here it is - my list for a perfect summer.
x A big camping trip with friends somewhere new.
x A road trip somewhere West, I've only stayed along the East coast unless I was out of the country.
x Go exploring more, there are so many local places I've never been that I'd like to see.
x Beach days, much much more of them. Last summer I went like twice meanwhile I'm surrounded by beaches.
x Craft outdoors. Creating things while enjoying the sun is much more fun than indoors missing out on the weather.
x Hiking! Everywhere, I want to go everywhere and climb mountains - lots of them. I climbed Mt. Beacon for my 26th birthday in October and getting to the top was such a great feeling.
x Go to a lot more shows. Last summer I didn't go to a single one and it felt like a part of my life was missing! Well that's exaggerating but it didn't feel good. Summer shows are the best with a group of friends, it always leaves you with a memory like " This moment right here is perfect". That's what I feel like at least.
x Swim! I was not in a pool or the ocean once last summer. Now I'm starting to wonder what the hell I was doing all of last summer. (I think I know but - I'm not going to share.)
xx D.
